The Green Bay Packers have agreed to terms on a long-termCheap Wholesale Hats contract extension with outside linebacker Clay Matthews, the NFL Network reports.

 

The Milwaukee Joual Sentinel reported the deal is for five years, $66 million—an average of $13.2 million—making him the highest-paid linebacker since DeMarcus Ware is now a defensive end. The deal goes through the 2018 season.

 

 Matthews shared a photo of the deal being signed deal on Twitter (@ClayMatthews52). "Trivial amongst the recent tragic news, but happy to continue my career in Green Bay!" Matthews tweeted.

 

"It feels good," Matthews said Wednesday during a news conference. "It's fuy, because not a whole lot has changed. I'm happy about it but for me, it's nice, it's very humbling and it's a blessing, Cal Bears Snapbacks    but it's business as usual for me. I'm glad that they have put their trust in me and belief in me in awarding me this, but at the same time you're going to get the same type of unwavering perseverance on the field and dedication that I'm going to bring day in and day out. Matthews, who tus just 27 in May, was worthy of being locked up for a lucrative reward. In just four seasons after being drafted 26th overall by the Packers in 2009, he has wreaked havoc as an edge playmaker in their 3-4 scheme, with 43 sacks, 203 total tackles and four interceptions in 58 career games.

 

The 2013 season was scheduled to be the last under Matthews' original five-year, $9.9 million deal. Under the old deal, he is scheduled to be paid $3.7 million in '13.

A man charged with stalking Richmond footballer Alex Rance has indicated he would plead guilty to the offence.

 

Scott Thomas, 35, of Prahran, has been charged with New Era Frantab Snapbacks stalking with Mr Rance between September 27 and October 6, 2011, and another count of using a carriage service to harass the footballer's sister, Ali.

Defence counsel Malcolm Thomas said his client would plead guilty to all 26 existing charges.

 

He told magistrate Caitlin English a psychiatric report would be prepared for the court.

 

Scott Thomas, who is on bail, will reappear before Ms English on May 24.

Judging by the Idea section on our TUF 17 Finale Aftermath, the majority of you felt that Travis Browne’s victory over Gabriel Gonzaga should have an asterisk next to it. If you watch the ending again, you’ll see that the first two elbows landed cleanly to the side of Gonzaga’s head. The elbow that put Gonzaga out was possibly illegal, and the last three elbows clearly hit the back of the head. However, since Gonzaga was already out when they landed, they didn’t potentially affect the outcome of the fight. The NSAC’s ruling on the third elbow will more than likely decide the outcome of this case.

THERE is life after inteational rugby; Mike Blair has just signed a two-year contract with Newcastle Falcons, a few months after aouncing his retirement from the inteational game.

 

That aouncement indeed makes him more valuable to a club. Cheap New Era Snapback Hats He won’t be away on Scotland duty in November, February and March. Of course, in the amateur days, it was quite usual for players to continue in club rugby, often for years, after the inteational selectors had lost interest in them, but there was an assumption that the rigours of the professional game would lead to bu-out and shorter careers. The former England and Lions lock, Simon Shaw, is still a member of the Toulon first-team squad at the age of 40, while Blair’s former team-mate for Edinburgh and Scotland, Nathan Hines, is an important figure in the Clermont-Auvergne XV bidding to win the Heineken Cup.

 

Indeed, wherever you looked last weekend in the Heineken and Amlin Challenge Cup matches, there were players retired from the inteational game, or deemed surplus to its requirements, plying their trade, and often shining. Ten years after he kicked England to World Cup glory with a drop-goal from his right that is to say, wrong foot, he finished off the Tigers in the same way. Meanwhile, a few hours earlier at The Stoop, Ronan O’Gara, whose rugby obituary was being pronounced by many, including myself, only a few weeks ago, was displaying all his old mastery as he steered Munster to victory over Harlequins. That match must surely have settled the Lions captaincy. Who can it be now but Paul O’Coell?

 

Sunday’s two Heineken quarter-finals showed once again that you don’t need tries to have a gripping match. Sadly, all four quarter-finals also showed that the readiness of referees to award a penalty to a scrum that is driving forward with no intention of releasing the ball to its backs is in danger of making a nonsense of the game.

 

The sooner the laws are adjusted so that we get back to theIn4mation Snapbacks Hat      understanding that the scrum is a means of restarting the game, usually by heeling the ball, the better.

 

Incidentally, there was one moment in the Challenge Cup match between Gloucester and Biarritz which demonstrated the absurdity of current refereeing practice, or, if you prefer, the incompetence of some referees or their indifference to the laws of the game. A line-out throw by the Biarritz hooker was judged to be squint which indeed it was, if only marginally so. A scrum was then called. The Gloucester scrum-half promptly fed the ball into his second-row, and the referee was happy to let this go. The second offence was more blatant than the first but went unpunished. Ridiculous.

 

Still, there was some lovely stuff in that match from both teams. I always take every chance on offer to watch Biarritz, if only to see Dimitri Yachvili in action. He has his bad days like almost everyone, but when he is on song he is a joy to watch. He seems to stroll through a game, controlling the action serenely, his reading of the play astute and usually a few seconds ahead of everyone else.

 

There were two lovely examples of his vision at Kingsholm: first, the sublime little chip which gave the Biarritz left-winger the easiest of tries all he had to do was catch the ball; second, that moment when, from a tuover deep in the Biarritz 22, Yachvili spotted space on the right and slung out a pass that travelled more than 30 yards, to be collected by the flying Ngwenya, who galloped free and passed to Benoit Baby to score.

 

No doubt Yachvili spends time in the gym, but he has never bulked up. Indeed, he is one of those, like Mike Blair and Chris Paterson, whose body shape looks much as it did when he first played professional rugby more than a dozen years ago. He is a true master, and I would have young Sean Keedy, the most promising scrum-half in Scotland, apply himself to the study of tapes or DVDs of Yachvili’s best games. He couldn’t fail to lea much about tactics, positional sense, the organisation of his forwards, and reading the flow of play.

 

On a final note: the Heineken is once again proving the most compelling of touaments. Any of the four teams left in it might still win, though Clermont-Auvergne are deservedly favourites to do so.

 

Meanwhile, it is essential that some compromise New Era Flael Snapbacks is found between the English and, to a lesser extent, French clubs who want the format changed, and the Rabo Pro12 clubs who are resisting their demands. THE catalyst of Melrose’s win at their own sevens touament back in 2011 will today retu to the Greenyards in opposition colours as the world famous event once again takes centre stage.

 

Local lad Scott Wight was a mainstay of the Melrose side Cheap Wholesale Hats that won the Kings of the Sevens overall title in 2010 and 2011 and was on top form in the final of the Melrose Sevens that latter year as the hosts came out on top against Hamilton from South Africa.

 

Now a professional with Glasgow Warriors the 27-year-old will play in the event today for his draft club Aberdeen Grammar.

 

Twelve months ago unfancied Grammar caused a few eyebrows to be raised when they reached the semi-finals only to lose out to eventual wiers Saracens. However, with playmaker Wight and Scotland Sevens flyer James Fleming included in a strong-looking ten-man squad nobody will be taking them lightly this time around.

 

The men from Rubislaw take on Selkirk in round one and their skipper Greig Ryan said: “We really enjoyed last year and we were gutted to lose out in the last four. I think we showed people that day that there are good sevens players elsewhere in the country other than the Borders and we are looking forward to the touament. Having players of Scott and James’ calibre is a bonus as they are experienced sevens players, but we know we have to play well as a team and are not looking any further than the first match.”

 

Wight’s inclusion for Grammar is just one interesting story on a day that always brings out the best in Scottish rugby. As well as Fleming, fellow Scotland Sevens players Lewis Young (Jed-Forest), Alex Glashan and Chris Dean (Edinburgh Accies), Rory Hughes (Stirling County) and Michael Maltman (Heriot’s) have been released to their clubs.

 

It is perhaps a pity that the likes of Colin Gregor, NBA 47 Brand Snapback     Michael Fedo and Andrew Tubull have not also been made available to play for clubs too, but nevertheless having Fleming et al on show is good for the crowd.

 

As current Kings of the Sevens and finalists last year, Jed-Forest will be ones to watch yet again even though they are without the likes of Darren Gillespie (now in New Zealand and a Scotland Sevens player) and Andrew Nagle (now Melrose) who were key men in 2012. They do have a good squad though with the aforementioned Lewis Young, Iain Chisholm, Nua Fono-Hunt and Michael Weekley ones to watch.

 

Chisholm said: “We loved our run to the final last year and when you run out on the pitch at Melrose the crowd is something completely different than what we are used to. It gives you a buzz.

 

“Last week at the Gala Sevens we felt we were unlucky to lose out to Hawick and I feel this year there is not as much pressure on us after 15s relegation, so we just need to go out there and play our own game.”

 

Melrose, who lost to Jed in the semis last year, will as always be roared on by a huge home following.

 

With Scotland Sevens cap Callum Anderson having retued to the club from Aberdeen Grammar and Glasgow Warriors’ EDPs Fraser Thomson and Bruce Dick in the squad on paper it looks a good ten.

 

Andrew Skeen is one of the best sevens exponents in the country and always has a trick or two up his sleeve while the squad is completed by Graham Dodds, Grant Runciman, Scott McCormick, Bruce Colvine, Allan Dodds and Nagle.

 

Melrose will meet the wiers of an intriguing round one tie between Watsonians and Glasgow Hawks with both having named strong squads. For ’Sonians Mike Ker and Rory Steele could be key while it will be good to see up-and-coming youngsters Sean Yacoubian and Harry Walker play on the big stage for Hawks.

 

Of the other Scottish clubs who could be dark horses for the title, Gala and Heriot’s probably fit the bill.

 

Gala are on a high having won their own sevens for the first time since 1995 last week while the Heriot’s squad looks strong with the previously mentioned Maltman joined by the likes of Fraser Brown and Jason Hill up front and there is pace out wide in the shape of Colin Goudie and Harry Boisseau.

 

It is also great to see that Howe of Fife have been invited to the event after wiing the Legacy Sevens Series in 2012 and they have a number of starlets to keep an eye out for.

 

Of course all of these teams will have their work cut out to get the better of the “guest” sides with reigning champions Saracens, Worcester Warriors and Clermont Auvergne expected New Era Dopetastic Snapbacks   to be strong and India somewhat of an unknown quantity.

 

Saracens are led by England Sevens caps Joe Maddock, Andy Saull, James Short and Nils Mordt with exciting young players such as Nick Tompkins, Nathan Earle, Tom Jubb and Scott Spurling also involved.

 

Duncan Taylor, who played for Saracens in the event last year, has since gone on to ea a Scotland A cap, but is not involved today.

 

Saracens coach Joe Shaw said: “We want to give a good account of ourselves. Melrose has a rich tradition in terms of the sevens format and as we are holders of the competition we have put together another strong squad.”

 

The Worcester squad includes three players with first-team experience in Ollie Hayes, Ben Howard and Richard de Carpentier while Academy youngsters Josh Buggea and Joe Nellany are also involved.

 

The Boston College baseball team eaed a 9-5 win New Era Snapback Hats  at Dartmouth on Tuesday afteoon at Red Rolfe Field at Biondi Park. The Eagles (6-25) tied a season-high with 16 hits and scored in every iing but the first and ninth.

 

The nine runs and 16 hits were also the most the Big Green (17-6) has surrendered this season.

 

Senior Matt Paré led the team with a 3-for-4 performance, tallying an RBI, a run and was hit twice by pitches. Sophomore Blake Butera also tallied three hits in six at bats with a run an RBI and two doubles. Freshman Gabriel Heandez recorded three RBIs on a 2-for-5 day.

 

Freshman right-hander John Nicklas (1-0) tallied his first collegiate win, pitching two iings of relief, allowing one hit, one run, two walks and striking out one. Sophomore right-handed starter Eric Stone allowed four hits, three runs - all eaed - one walk and struck out three in three iings.

 

Dartmouth's RHP Beau Sulser (0-1) shouldered the loss, throwing two iings of relief. He allowed five hits, four runs - all eaed - two walks and struck out one. Starter LHP Adam Frank pitched the first 3.2 iings, gave up five hits, three runs - all eaed - three walks and one strikeout.

 

The Eagles got on the board in the second, after Stone retired the first  Mishka Snapbacks three batters he faced in order. Freshman Logan Hoggarth led off with a double to left center and with one out, Heandez laced one past the diving third baseman to drive him in.

 

BC added a run in the third and one in the fourth to take a 3-0 lead. Paré and junior John Heessy tallied back-to-back singles in the third and Paré tagged up and moved to third on a fly ball by junior Tom Bourdon. Hoggarth plated him with a groundout to short. In the fourth with two outs, freshman Joe Cronin drew a walk and Butera doubled to left, scoring his teammate from first. Sulser came in and got Heessy swinging to end the iing.

 

The Big Green tied the game in the fourth, scoring three runs on five hits. Dustin Selzer led off with a base hit and Jeff Keller plated him with a double to left center. Nick Lombardi followed with a double of his own to make it a one-run game and BC went to the pen for sophomore lefty Nick Poore. Ryan Toimil hit the first pitch he saw to left center to score Lombardi to tie the game. Poore forced a fly out and the Eagles got the lead ruer on a fielder's choice to short for the second out. After a single and ruers on second and third, Poore got out of the jam and kept the game tied with a strikeout looking.

 

The Eagles went back on top the next iing, stringing together three hits and a walk with two outs. Freshman Stephen Sauter started the rally with a single to center and senior Matt McGove drew a walk to put two on. Heandez drove both in with a double off the glove of the diving right fielder. Cronin then laced on through the right side to score Heandez and give BC the three-run lead back.

 

BC added a run in the top of the sixth as Heessy walked with one out and moved up on Hoggarth's two-out base hit. Righty Duncan Robinson entered the game and Sauter knocked on just inside the left-field line to score Heessy. The Big Green got the run back in the bottom of the iing with a triple off the bat of Matt Parisi, scoring Adam Gauthier, who walked.

 

Paré made it an 8-4 game in the seventh with a single through the right side, driving in Butera, who doubled into the left coer. McGove add a run with a solo shot - his first home run of the 2013 season - over the right-field fence in the eighth.

 

Parisi tallied a shot off sophomore righty John Gorman in the top of the ninth to make it a 9-5 game. Gorman settled in and got three straight out to preserve the win.

 

The Eagles will travel to Amherst, Mass., to take on Massachusetts on Wednesday, April 10 at 3 p.m. in the first round of the 23rd Aual Beanpot Touament. Northeaste and Harvard New Era Flael Snapbacks     square off at Friedman Field. The consolation and championship games will be held on April 29 at Fenway Park at 2 and 5 p.m., respectively. Tickets are $10 and benefit the Pete Frates #3 Fund.

 

It has been eight years since Tiger Woods last won the Masters.

 

Eight years since Woods holed that too good to be true pitch shot at the 16th hole, the one that took its own sweet time before falling into the cup, the swoosh-stamped ball pausing for an instant to tease the world before tumbling in, igniting a roar that shook the pines and every soul watching at Augusta National and a thousandSnapback Hats Cheap Wholesalepoints beyond.

 

That was when it seemed Woods could do anything, though the reality was he bogeyed the next two holes after his imagination-rattling pitch-in to fall into a playoff with Chris DiMarco before scratching out his fourth Masters victory.

After finishing second to Woods at the WGC-Cadillac Championship at Doral last month, Steve Stricker-who's still hearing it from other pros for giving Woods a putting lesson that week-said this about Tiger:

 

"His attitude and what I saw (at Doral), his belief in himself again, looks very similar to where he was in the early 2000s or you can pick any (year), I guess, when he was playing great.

 

"He just seems in a better place mentally, to me. He seems to be having fun. Seems to have a lot of confidence in himself and his game."

 

This is not about being back.

 

"Never left," Woods answered when asked if his victory at Torrey Pines in late January showed he was back.

 

This is about the next stage of Woods' career. He won with a homemade swing, with another swing taught by Butch Harmon, then another cultivated by Hank Haney. Accused of being bullheaded for insisting he could rebuild his game again using Sean Foley's new age teachings, Woods has made it happen.

 

The next step is wiing his 15th professional major championship. Eight years since his last Masters victory and nearly five years since he beat Rocco Mediate in a playoff to win the 2008 U.S. Open, Woods' quest to break Jack Nicklaus's record of 18 majors has stalled.

 

Once a foregone conclusion, Woods catching and passing Nicklaus is now an open-ended question.

 

"Is he going to be back to the game he had in 2000 or 2001? Probably not," ESPN golf analyst Curtis Strange said. "Is he back to being a consistent contender, an intimidating figure? Yeah, I think he's very, very close to being back in that respect. Is he back to wiing majors? Well, we have yet to see."

 

In the career race, Woods stands dead even with NicklausAngry Birds Snapbacks. At age 37, Woods has played 60 majors and won 14, the same numbers Nicklaus had at the same age. It took Nicklaus nine more years to win his last four majors.

This year, Woods leads the tour in strokes gained putting, perhaps the strongest indicator that this might be the year he wins a fifth green jacket.

 

This Masters may ultimately be about someone else-Rory McIlroy or Lee Westwood or Mickelson. But it begins-again-with Tiger Woods.

 

"To me the anticipation is almost like a heavyweight fight; when Ali is getting ready to step into the ring with Foreman or Frazier or when Sugar Ray Leonard and Thomas Heas are about to step into the ring or Mike Tyson against Riddick Bowe," Azinger said. "The anticipation for this Masters (is) to see if Tiger can win four out of five and get his first major now that he's making every putt."

Michael Morse says he's emerging from this first, power-laden week feeling like he needs to ease up on the aggressiveness and just relax.

That handed the Mariners their fourth loss in the last five games on a road trip that finished 3-4 after a 2-0 start.

 

"I fell behind 2-0, and I tried to get back in the count and I just left a sinker up," Loe said. "I would have preferred for it to be away. It came back over the middle of the plate and he hit it well."

 

The blast was the first game-ending homer of Viciedo's career.

 

"You pipe it down the middle 2-0 to any of these big-league hitters and they're probably going to put a big swing on it," Loe said.

Adam Du also hit a home run for the White Sox on Sunday, a two-run shot off Iwakuma in the first iing to tie the score at 2-2.

 

Iwakuma went on to retire the next 16 batters in a row until Rios went deep. That bought the Mariners more time to generate offense, but they went 0-for-7 with ruers in scoring position.

 

Morse came up three times with a ruer at second base and went down swinging on all three occasions, including in the 10th against White Sox closer Addison Reed. Things had started off far better for Morse when he coected for a two-run blast to left in the first iing off White Sox southpaw starter Chris Sale.

 

That made Morse the only Mariners hitter other than Ken Griffey Jr. in 1997 to hit five home runs in the first week. Griffey wound up with six in the first seven games that year.

 

Kendrys Morales added his first Mariners home run in the sixth off Sale to put Seattle ahead 3-2. Morales also had a double, a single and was walked intentionally on a 3-for-4 day.

 

But like Morse, the Mariners started quickly on offense and just couldn't finish.

 

"I think we're definitely underachieving what we're capable of doing," Morse said. "But we haven't played what, a week of baseball? I think we've showed some good signs of what we're capable of doing."

 

And the key now, he added, is for everyone to just relax and get their feet undeeath them. Morse has struck out nine times his last 18 at-bats and says he needs to calm his bat.

 

"They're feeding off my aggressiveness right now," he said. "I just need to relax a little bit and zone up a little more. Just stay aggressive, but under control. I'm kind of swinging out of the zone a little bit. But like I said, it's way early and there's a lot of baseball left."

 

Mariners manager Eric Wedge said playing 14 in a row to open the season without a break is a tough schedule for any club. He said his team looks forward to getting home for tomorrow's New Era Flael Snapbacks    Safeco Field opener against the Houston Astros.

 

"It's the first week and there are some good things that have happened and some things we need to get better with," Wedge said. "We need to settle in offensively. We know we're going to be a good offensive club. But we need to settle in offensively, both different individuals and collectively. That will take some of the pressure off the pitching staff."

The Commonwealth of Virginia honored NASCAR diversity trailblazer Wendell Scott with a historical highway marker in his hometown of Danville, Va., to celebrate his legacy as the New Era Snapback Hats   first African-American to win a race in what is now known as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Scott broke racial barriers in NASCAR over his 13-year career at NASCAR’s top level that included 20 top-five and 147 top-ten finishes in 495 starts.

 

“The Commonwealth of Virginia is deep with NASCAR heritage and support,” said NASCAR President Mike Helton. “Wendell Scott is very much a part of NASCAR’s and Virginia’s history. We join others in thanking the Commonwealth of Virginia for the honor they are bestowing on Mr. Scott, one that is well deserved. The Scott family has been instrumental to NASCAR as we developed our multicultural efforts, and it was Wendell Scott who served as such an inspiration to us all.”

 

During the ceremony, Danville Mayor Sherman Saunders declared April 5, 2013 as Wendell Scott Day and his restored No. 11 race car was displayed along with cars exhibited by Occoneechee Historic Speedway Group, Early Dirt Racers of Virginia and North Carolina and the Old Timers Racing Club.

 

Aside from Helton and Saunders; other speakers included: Earl Reynolds, Danville director of community development; Sarah Latham, president of the Danville Historical Society; Kathleen S. Kilpatrick, director of the Department of Historic Resources; and Wendell Scott, Jr.

 

“Our father was a proud Virginian, so this honor from the Virginia Department of Historic Resources is very humbling,” said Sybil Scott, daughter of the late Scott. “We believe daddy is with us in spirit, New Era Dopetastic Snapbacks      smiling on his friends, peers, family and especially his fans and our mother who are witnessing the fruits of his labor. The historic marker stands tall and today’s representation by local, state and NASCAR officials assure that his struggles against the odds, but more importantly, his accomplishments are undeniable.”

 

Scott, who officially retired from racing in 1973 and passed away in 1990, enjoyed a prolific career that spaed well beyond NASCAR’s premier series. In 1959, he won both the NASCAR Sportsman Division Virginia championship and the Sportsman Division championship at Southside Speedway in Richmond, Va. In 1957, Scott finished third in the Virginia standings behind NASCAR Hall of Famer Ned Jarrett. Since his retirement, he has been inducted into 13 halls of fame, including the Inteational Motorsports Hall of Fame. Last year, Scott was among the 25 nominees up for induction into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

 

During his career, Scott blazed a trail of diversity that extends to today’s NASCAR. This season, NASCAR is home to several diverse and female drivers in its three national series, including Danica Patrick, Juan Pablo Montoya, Aric Almirola, Nelson Piquet, Jr., Kyle Larson, Miguel Paludo, Johaa Long, Juan Carlos Blum, German Quiroga and Darrell Wallace, Jr.

 

“The story of Wendell Scott reminds us all of what gritty determination and eyes-on-the-prize perseverance can accomplish,” said Virginia Goveor Bob McDoell. “I applaud Danville for working with the Commonwealth in recognizing Scott’s singular achievements. I am also grateful to NASCAR for celebrating Scott’s legacy this weekend in Danville and at the Martinsville Speedway, a remaining original NASCAR track, and bringing the story of Scott and Virginia’s motorsports legacy to the nation and racing fans around the world.”

 

Virginia’s historical highway marker program, which began in 1927 with the installation of the first historical markers along U.S. Route 1, is considered the oldest such program in the nation. Currently there are more than 2,200 official state markers, most maintained by the Virginia Department of Transportation, as well as by local partners in jurisdictions outside of VDOT’s authority such as Danville.

 

The next NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race will be The STP Gas Booster 500 on April 7 at 1 p.m. ET. It will air on FOX, FOX Deportes, Motor Racing Network Radio and Mitchell& Ness Vintag Snapbacks SiriusXM Radio with additional coverage on NASCAR.COM.

 

 

 

Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley is keen to downplay the significance of his side's first meeting with former mentor Mick Malthouse's Carlton side at the MCG on Sunday.

 

Buckley served his coaching apprenticeship under Malthouse, New Era Snapback Hats   as part of the infamous 'succession plan' implemented by Pies president Eddie McGuire, before taking the reins in the top job for the 2012 season.

 

Malthouse has gone on the record in recent days to reveal his bitteess over the way his tenure at Collingwood ended, adding spice to what is always a heated class between the two old rivals.

 

But, speaking at the St Kilda Sea Baths on Wednesday, Buckley was keen to ensure things stay focused on the field.

 

"It's pretty hard to avoid it, given the coection to the club so recent and then going to the arch enemy," he said.

 

"The real action's going to be on the field come game day."

 

When asked if he would acknowledge Malthouse before Sunday's match, Buckley said it was not something he had plaed on.

 

"I very rarely get to any of the opposition coaches on game day. I caught up with Mick at the coach's AGM last week. I'll see him tomorrow at the Peter MacCallum breakfast," Buckley said.

 

"I've got nothing but respect for Mick, I've leat a lot from himIn4mation Snapbacks Hat     . Played under him for a number of years as his captain, worked under him as an assistant coach in the plan to eventually become senior coach.

 

"We've had many frank discussions, not in recent times, but we had many frank discussions about that situation and I understand what took place and he understands what took place.

 

"I don't think there's a lot of understanding exteally."

 

Buckley refused to be drawn on whether he felt it would be sad if Malthouse and McGuire never buried the hatchet.

 

"That's exteal to the game. That's a good headline, a good storyline, but once again that takes the focus off the field which is really where it should stay," he said.

 

Despite not making the finals in 2012, Carlton defeated Collingwood twice last season - by 60 and 23 points - and Buckley is keen to make sure his side is tougher around the ball this time out.

 

"They've got a lot of speed on the fringes and they're very strong through the midfield," he said.

 

"They've nutted us at contested ball and clearances in the last couple of occasions.

 

"We're in the middle of a three-game run where we play teams that we played six times last year and didn't get a win, so we've ticked one box with last week's performance (against North Melboue).

 

"We come in against a side that's done really well in the clinches New Era Dopetastic Snapbacks against us and I think that's where it'll start and end."

 

 

 

While most attention on the Pitt athletic program surrounded the departure of Rushel Shell, the Pitt basketball team aounced a couple of moves as well.

 

Up first, nearly a year to the day that he aounced his decision to transfer to Pitt, junior guard Trey Zeigler has decided to transfer after one year at Pitt. He transferred in from Central Michigan a year ago, New Era Snapback Hats      and will now look to finish off his eligibility elsewhere.

 

"We will assist Trey in finding the best situation for him to reach his goals both academically and athletically,” Dixon said. “He’s a great kid, hard worker and good player. We thank Trey for his contribution to our program over the last year and wish him much success in the future.”

 

Zeigler averaged 4.4 points and 2.0 rebounds per game in 31 games, but averaged 0.75 points a game in the final nine games of the season, we also seeing his minutes drop. Zeigler had a season-high 18 points in a win over DePaul in January, and a 13-point performance in a win at Villanova, also in January.

 

Zeigler was suspended indefinitely, In4mation Snapbacks Hat  missing a total of two games following a DUI arrest in November.

 

Adams, the nation's No. 14 overall player in the Class of 2012, and five-star recruit, leaves after just one year.

 

A Big East All-Rookie Team selection, Adams led Pitt in blocked shots (65), rebounding (6.3 rpg.) and field goal percentage (.571), while also contributing 7.2 points per game. He started all 32 of games played in 2012-13, finishing with two double-doubles, six double figure scoring games and five 10-plus rebound games.

 

He concluded his freshman season ranked among school freshman season leaders in several statistical categories; games started (2nd), field goal percentage (1st), rebounds (6th), rebound average (7th), percentage of starts (1st), blocked shots (2nd) and blocked shots average (3rd).

 

“In discussing options with my family and Coach Dixon, I feel that it is in my best interest to declare for the NBA Draft,” Adams said. “I want to thank everyone at Pitt including my teammates, coaching staff, the administration and the fans who have all supported me over the last year.”

 

“After talking with Steven and his family, we fully support him in this decision,” Dixon said. “We support him in choosing to pursue his dreams and in having the opportunity to provideNew Era Dopetastic Snapbacks for his family back in New Zealand. We will continue to stay involved in the process and he will always be a part of the Pitt Basketball family.”

 

 

 

 

Remove the “interim” tag from his title.

 

New Mexico officially aounced Tuesday that longtime New Era Snapback Hats   assistant and short-time interim head coach Craig Neal will take over the program after the departure of Steve Alford to UCLA.

 

It will be aounced to the public Wednesday at a press conference.

 

Neal had coached alongside Alford at New Mexico for six seasons. Prior to his time with the Lobos, he was on the bench with Alford at Iowa. Neal also has experience as an assistant coachMuki Snapback at the NBA level with the Toronto Raptors. He had emerged as a top candidate to replace Alford on a full-time basis since the time of Alford’s decision to head to Westwood.

 

Neal now inherits a team that retus nearly all major pieces from its Mountain West title team this season with the exception of Tony Snell. The decision to hire Neal on a full-time basis puts New Mexico in a better position to keep center Alex Kirk, who reportedly said that he would transfer if any coach other than Neal was brought into the program.

 

New Mexico finished 29-6 this past season, New Era Frantab Snapbacks including 13-3 in the MWC. The Lobos lost in the first round of the NCAA touament to Harvard.

 

 

It would be real easy for me to sit down and pen a column about the fact that the Big East has sent to ACC teams, Syracuse (who leaves after the season) and Louisville (who will spend one Wholesale Snapbacks more year in the league before bouncing) to the Final Four.

 

I could write that in my sleep.

 

I’ve done it already, right before the Big East touament.

 

But the more I think about it, the happier that I am that the Big East finally blew up, because what it had become was a bloated, watered down disaster. Georgetown and SMU? Providence and Central Florida? Seton Hall and Houston? Who has any desire to see those teams play?

 

Hell, I wouldn’t be all that upset if they traded DePaul for someone like St. Joseph’s or La Salle or VCU.

 

The bottom line is that this season’s version of the conference — the one that still counted Pitt, Syracuse, Louisville and Rutgers as members — still isn’t what the Big East was in it’s glory days. New Era Flael Snapbacks  Not when UCo plays Syracuse, Pitt, Villanova and Georgetown once in a season while drawing home-and-homes with South Florida and DePaul. That’s the Big East basketball we all reminisce about? St. John’s looking to get revenge for an early-season loss at home to Tulsa?

 

But that’s the beauty of Louisville and Syracuse both making the Final Four this season.

 

You see, one day, I think the new Big East will eventually have a chance to be as relevant as the Big East was in its glory days. It’s loaded with schools that value and invest money in basketball. Butler, Xavier, Georgetown, St. Louis, Creighton, Marquette, Villanova. Those are all really good basketball programs that will make aual pushes deep into the touament. And, once they start playing each other two or three times in a season, rivalries will emerge. Butler and Marquette already seem to have a healthy dislike for each other after playing a couple of classics recently. You don’t think Georgetown and Xavier or St. Louis and Villanova can do the same? All it takes is one shoving match or one hard foul or one buzzer-beater.

 

Hell, the Syracuse-Georgetown rivalry, one of the best in college basketball, grew out of John Thompson Jr. saying “Manley Fieldhouse is now closed.”

 

So I don’t think Big East basketball is dead. It’s going to be different, but it’s not dead.

 

But Syracuse and Louisville playing on the season’s finalTisa Cotton Snapbacks weekend is a not-so-subtle reminder that we screwed up an awesome thing with realignment.

 

I, for one, take a bit of happiness out of that.
